Dr. Carly Miller is a Geologist at Juneau Oil & Gas, LLC. As a member of the Juneau team, Carly’s responsibilities currently include all aspects of geologic interpretation: well log correlation, petrophysical evaluation, geochemical analysis and organic matter characterization, geomodeling and mapping, geologic explanation of local, field-wide, and regional well production results, and literature and public data review. During development projects, she coordinates with land and engineering to design a rig-schedule and full development strategy of all acquired acreage, including well planning and recommendations for geologic and geophysical data acquisition. She will engage in on-site drilling operations supervision and collaboration, including oversight of well-logging, mud-logging and geo-steering operations. She will analyze, in real-time, geologic data acquired during drilling and logging, and iteratively incorporate well results into her working geologic model.
Carly began her career in the oil and gas industry at Juneau Exploration, while completing her doctorate degree in Geology, with a concentration on Carbonate Sedimentology and Geomicrobiology, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Carly holds an MS and BS from UIUC. She began her education at Clemson University in 2002, where she played volleyball as a varsity athlete and majored in Biological Sciences.
